From Proverbs 25:25.
We all love to hear some good news. It is indeed like cold water to a thirsty soul quenching the dryness of the body and bringing in freshness and new life. Just like our bodies, our souls can get thirsty for goodness. But what if the good news is slow in coming? What then? We cannot depend on pleasant tidings to keep us happy because they just aren’t that regular. Even if we had the best news today, soon we would be needing some more.
God gave us His version of good news which we can turn to whenever the need arises. It is the Gospel, everything you need is within it. He prepared words for every challenging season we would ever face because He saw it coming ahead of time. So you can get good news (from the One who is truth itself) by reading the good promises in His Word.
Here are some to start you off:
I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. Lamentations 3:25
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love Him, and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? If we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Romans 8:24-25
